WATERFALL

A simple asymmetrical design combining Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Tibetan iconography, in warm reds punctured by pools of gold, copper mists, yellow ochre and vertical movement. In the ancient science of Feng Shui, the vertical upward movement is symbolic of tree energy, growth and aspiration. The painting as a whole speaks of the infinitely burgeoning spirit of life, nature and flexibility, which is represented in the familiar silhouette of the delicately bending bamboo. The use of space combined with sparse decoration conveys the overwhelming impression of inspiration. Meanwhile, the unity of the painting conjures up an unheard music that seems to resonate from the depths of an unseen forest, with equal parts of shadow and light. The whimsical figure of Tara is suggestive of feminine and sensual earth energy — the pungent earth from which seeds of trees and dreams germinate and blossom. The blocks of gold build upwards, representing the growth of life — the spiritual journey— dazzling rays of soft sunlight break through the cool transparent shade of a forest, Zen-like voids echo, and
infinite depths dissolve into an interplay of daybreak and twilight.
