CHASE THE BUDDHA DRAGON

The title hints at a mans obsession; chasing a dream or an illusion, or of higher Spiritual aspirations. In spite of what illusions he may be after, he still remains in restless pursuit of an intangible fulfilment.
On another level it can be seen as an evocation of the sublime; sombre, tantalising and beguiling. Rich, exotic lacquer reds gradient into a darkness forming the backdrop to a collage of random scraps of printed matter assembled during the artist’s travels throughout the Orient. An Opium dream of Buddha highlighted in antique gold and emerging from unfathomable depths in flickering gold candlelight bespeaking the mysteries of the Orient.
